Are Tron & Justin Sun Playing a Sneaky Game of 4-D Chess?

News Feed - 2019-07-29 12:07:21

According to CNBC Africa’s Ran NeuNer, TRON CEO Justin Sun was forbidden to take part in the Warren Buffett lunch due to the ongoing trade tensions between China and the United States.

The unnamed source claims the Chinese government found Sun’s promotion of the lunch “provocative” and suggests it won’t take place at all.

The rumor, still unconfirmed, comes at a remarkably convenient time for the TRON frontman.

Only last week Sun was being sought by Chinese officials due to alleged “pornography,” and other crimes relating to the China-based Peiwo app. Earlier in the month, Chinese police had to storm TRON HQ to quell a protest of scam victims who blamed Sun for their losses.

Are we really to believe that the Chinese government is worried about Sun sharing a steak with Warren Buffet? Or is this a bait and switch move straight from Donald Trump’s “4-D chess” playbook? TRON Plot Thickens: Justin Sun’s Naked Lunch

Ran NeuNer revealed what a source had suggested was the real reason for the Buffett charity lunch cancellation. NeuNer tweeted:RelatedPosts Jeremy Lin’s $65 Million a Cold Comfort as NBA Champ Hits Rock BottomAmid Bitcoin Price Drop, Crypto Analyst Foresees Sustained Rally “The plot thickens; Sources in China say the Chinese government believed that @justinsuntron “promoting” the Warren Buffett lunch was a “provocative” act given current trade tensions. He has been told not to pursue the lunch. My source believes the lunch won’t happen at all.” The plot thickens;

Suspiciously, this rumor, which somehow found its way to one of the most prominent figures in crypto land, is actually better for Justin Sun than the story we’ve heard up until now.

Previously, Sun was being sought by Chinese officials for a slew of alleged crimes relating to his Peiwo app. This app has TRON already integrated at this point, which might explain the worrisome TRX sell-off earlier in the week.

One story after another flowed from Sun’s Twitter account in the past few days. First, the cancellation of the lunch was due to kidney stones, and Sun vehemently denied the claims by the news outlet Caixin that he was being sought in China.

Hours later, Sun was spotted partying in San Francisco, and then offered up a grovelingapology to the Chinese government and Caixin. Any Publicity Is Good Publicity for Justin Sun

Ultimately, the insinuation we’re supposed to take from Ran NeuNer’s “source” is that Justin Sun is such a celebrity in China that the government can’t bear the thought of him chewing the cud with Buffett during a trade war.

Take NeuNer’s source for what you think it’s worth, but just know that it shifts the narrative in Sun’s favor by default.

Also, it may be worth noting that within the 24 hours since NeuNer’s tweet went out, someone paid money to promote Justin Sun’s Twitter profile. Justin Sun’s Twitter account is being promoted. | Source: Twitter

If Justin Sun really is playing 4-D chess with this latest rumor, then it might just be the smartest thing the gaffe-laden CEO has done thus far. Bruce Lee and Chill

On Sunday, Sun took to Twitter to post this philosophical quote from another Chinese emigre who also once rubbed his government the wrong way. Sun tweeted: “Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. Put water into a cup. Becomes the cup. Put water into a teapot. Becomes the teapot. Be water my friend.” Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. Put water into a cup. Becomes the cup. Put water into a teapot. Becomes the teapot. Be water my friend.

Sun couldn’t have picked a more interesting time to quote Bruce Lee movies given the scrutiny he currently finds himself under by the Chinese government. Lee was treated with suspicion by the Chinese while he was alive, and fifty years after his death, his legacy is still barely acknowledgeddue to reasons which are presumably political.

Is Justin Sun trying to tell us something with his Bruce Lee references? If he begins quoting dissident Chinese artist Ai Weiwei next, then we’ll know something’s up.
