In reality, the Tweet is a smart promotional feat on the part of EA"s marketing team who"ve clearly been keeping this one in reserve for some time. Crypto is the name of the latest character to join the ranks of EA"s battle royale shooter Apex Legends. Crypto joins the game when Season 3 kicks off on Oct. 1.
Crypto is a sleek techie, a wizard with gadgets who deploys drones to do his bidding for him on the battlefield. With the character, developer Respawn Entertainment is taping into the futuristic hacker allure that is synonymous with cryptocurrency in some circles.
