You Just Can't Offer Pennies
Ah you gotta love it. Whenever a game or an application offers any type of monetary rewards the cheaters come out in full force and unless the developers or creators and mods crack down on it and crack down fast it often can destroy everything you've worked on building and creating.
This once again shows true with the newest big web 3 game called "The Grid" has been plagued with cheaters and they are now offering a whole whopping $500 bounty to snitch on it lol. I don't think $500 is going to get anyone to act on it fast but who knows $500 to a younger gamer can be a lot of money! Heck that's almost a new PlayStation!
Right now it's clear though like with any application that if the cheating is not brought under control then it will end up destroying the game. This happens with normal games all the time however with money/crypt incentive games it's on a whole other level. It blows my mind what some people will do to cheat and find ways around things for a single penny. I guess that 3rd world country status must be something either that or people just legit have nothing better to do with their time and just want to destroy.
It's going to be interesting how this one plays out and really makes me question the value of decentralization as I personally just feel it will never work and that there has to be a central authority that makes the rules and takes action in these types of cases.
What are you thoughts?
