If you are one of those curious persons who tracks the trends with regards to our blockchain coins - STEEM and SBD, you may have noticed the drop of the SBD USD value in the last days.

Let's see what has happened, there was a chain of events.

• UpBit announced on 13 Jan 2025, they are delisting SBD: "Termination of market support for SteemDollars(SBD)"

Here two quotes, auto-translated from Korean:

"The digital asset in question will terminate trading support on 2025-02-12 (Wed) 17:00 KST."

"Upbit conducted an additional thorough review of the virtual asset and determined that the reasons for designating Steam Dollar as a trading caution item had not been resolved, and decided to terminate trading support in accordance with the Digital Assets Designation of a Trading Caution Item and Trading Support Termination Policy."

If you browse to CoinMarketCap, and check out SBD, https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/steem-dollars/ you are going to see that currently it is being traded only on HTX (Huobi)

However, following the delisting of SBD on UpBit, HTX decided to suspend both SBD and STEEM deposits and withdrawals.

I confirmed that by logging to my HTX account and heading to SBD deposits.

The good news and the opportunity here, if you can see it, is that SBD is open for Spot trading.

Logically, after disabling trading on the other exchange, the volumes at HTX increased.

The order book currently has only about 4k of SBD available for selling for USDT prices less than 1.00

Yeah, yeah, people are going crazy in the last years and months but logic says SBD should be around $1.00.

HTX has some restrictions:

"Users from the following jurisdictions are prohibited from using all services: Mainland China, the United States of America, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Hong Kong China and Singapore."
