What is an NFT?
NFT stands for "Non-Fungible Token."  At a basic level, an NFT is a digital asset that links ownership to unique physical or digital items such as artwork, real estate, music or video.  NFTs are bought and sold with blockchain (the same technology behind cryptocurrencies), and are usually also bought with cryptocurrencies, such as Ether (the main currency used to buy NFTs).
NFTs can be considered as modern day collectibles.  They are bought and sold online only, have no physical equivalent, and represent digital proof of ownership of a given item.  Because NFTs are securely recorded on a blockchain, there is a layer of insurance that the assets are one-of-a-kind as this technology can also make NFTs difficult to alter or counterfeit.
Why are people hyping NFTs?

The NFT market has grown from a multi-billion dollar industry, with even the largest NFT marketplace at around $20.5 billion.
The buzz around NFTs grew when the technology was used to sell digital art.  People started noticing this phenomenon when Mike Winkelman's digital artwork - "EVERYDAY: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS" sold for less than $69,346,300.  And Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey sold his first tweet.
Although several people are still surprised about the NFT hype.
Remember the virtual Coca-Cola jacket that sold for an estimated $576,00?  And a 10,000 pack of William Shatner's trading cards — about 126,000 digital collectibles with photos of his personal life and career from the 1930s to the present day — sold out in just nine minutes, or the timepiece, from which nearly 4,500 NTFS were collected for the original 42 people worldwide.  More artists?
Today's discussion ends here.  I hope you find it interesting and able to understand.  Share your thoughts on today's topic.  Wishes and blessings to all.
